At this stage, it seems almost certain that Stranger Things will return in the second half of 2025, marking over three years since Season 4 premiered. While this delay is already old news, the wait feels endless. To make matters worse, Netflix might be planning something else that many fans find frustrating: splitting the season into multiple parts.
According to a report from What’s On Netflix, sources suggest that Season 5 of Stranger Things will be divided into two parts. Season 4 was previously split into seven and two episodes, making it one of the first Netflix shows to adopt this approach. While the split back then was reportedly due to the need for additional time to complete VFX work, it now seems Netflix is doing this primarily to keep subscribers hooked for two months instead of just one.
The report speculates that Stranger Things Season 5 could be released in two batches, one in October and the other in November, with a month-long gap in between. However, it’s unclear whether the split will be an even 4-and-4 episode division or follow the 6-and-2 format used in the previous season. While there’s ongoing debate about the exact release date, most speculation points to November. Netflix has remained tight-lipped and declined to comment on any of these details.
